Welcome! I’m Danielle and I am an art educator in New Jersey and have taught all grades from -Pre-Kindergarten through Undergraduate. Currently, I teach 2D, 3D, and digital media and am constantly learning new techniques to share with my students.

As a teacher, my most important role is to help students develop their problem solving and critical thinking skills. I believe in this so much that I’ve spent 8 years years as a Teen Leadership Program Coordinator at a summer camp to guide teens and preteens through problem solving activities all day, every day. In the class room, it is easy to find my students problem solving through choice-based lessons, incorporating the very tasks that are usually challenging in other classes. We think like scientists, try new technology, draft like engineers, and measure our progress like scientists. In short, we are ARTISTS.

As an artist, I am inspired by all that is around me. I focus my creative efforts mostly into jewelry making and metalworking, working from my home studio with my dog Stanley as my trusty assistant. I start by finding rocks, stones, branches, scraps of silver, or general “findings,” then sketching my pieces based on the shape of the finding. My paintings, drawings, and sketches generally stem from the sights and sounds of my art classroom. I am currently working on a series of large scale paintings of words overheard in the art room. Stay tuned!
